Description

LIGHTHOUSE is the leading global provider of laser-based, non-destructive headspace analysis platforms. Our range of benchtop and automated platforms with patented laser sensor technology is used to analyze pharmaceutical products and packages and monitor sterile product processes across the product life cycle. In addition to supplying headspace platforms, LIGHTHOUSE offers measurement services and lease equipment from laboratory facilities in Charlottesville, VA, and Amsterdam. Our highly-trained team of Application Scientists supports customers with outsourced testing services, scientific studies, and lease equipment projects.

Lighthouse Instruments has an immediate career opportunity for a Project Manager.

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating projects according to predetermined timelines and budgets.  These projects can be customer-facing, i.e., a system built to the customer's requirements, and internal, i.e., Lighthouse's new product developments.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

·         Reports to the Manager of the Automation Business

·         Interacts with Product Marketing, Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR CUSTOMER-FACING PROJECTS:

·         Work with the Sales Team to qualify opportunities and prepare pricing and project timelines.

·         Work with the customer, engineering, and manufacturing to meet project requirements.

·         Coordinate all validation documentation, Factory Acceptance Test, installation, Site Acceptance Test, and training.

·         Coordinate support for the installed base of equipment.

·         Domestic and International travel, 4 to 6 trips annually, each 3 to 5 days long.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR INTERNAL PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT:

·         Work with Product Managers to understand marketing requirements for new product developments.

·         Assemble the proper internal engineering resources to work on the development.

·         Hold regularly scheduled project status meetings and report status to senior staff and product owner.

 

CAREER PROGRESSION:

·         The person in this role could progress along a technical track or towards a Product Manager role depending on their skill set and strengths.



Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Familiarity with PMBOK and project management tools.

·         Demonstrated leadership in managing teams.

·         Ability to develop and maintain good customer relationships.

·         Proficiency with MS Office Products and Google Suite.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

·         Bachelor's Degree, preferably with a Science or Engineering background.

·         PMI Certification preferred.

·         Five (5) years of work experience in a project management role.

·         Above average ability to be flexible, organize, manage time, and set/shift priorities while meeting deadlines required.

·         A team player who can cultivate a team spirit within the department and maintain positive interdepartmental collaboration.

·         Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply Organization guidelines and procedures within the position and the department.
